The first episode of Life Lessons from the Battlefield features the story of Param Vir Chakra’s first recipient, Major Somnath Sharma. Surrounded by enemy Lakshkar tribes on 3 sides, Major Somnath Sharma found himself with his men 7 to 1, but withdrawing meant allowing the enemy access to the crucial airstrip of Srinagar and Kashmir in general.
The second episode tells the story of the Battle of Black Rock and Captain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, MVC (P). At a height of 16,000 feet and a freezing temperature of -10 degrees Celsius, Captain Kenguruse took off his boots and, barefoot, climbed the cliff while carrying a rocket launcher with him. He was martyred but was determined to claim the Indian flag on the cliff.
The story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal of the Battle of Basantar was presented in the third episode of the campaign. Khetarpal destroyed 10 Pakistani tanks with only 2 and did not withdraw even after being seriously injured. Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal kept his promise to save the country and fought with all his might.
The fourth episode is dedicated to Operation Meghdoot in 1984, a battle on the Siachen Glacier. Even the freezing cold could not dampen the morale of the brave Indian soldiers. In honor of Naib Subedar Bana Singh, the post that our heroes have conquered with their absolute courage is now called “The Bana Top”.
The fifth episode will be released on September 28, 2021, which is again a magnificent story of an Indian soldier beautifully performed by Major Gaurav Arya from another battlefield. These stories remain unknown until someone brings them along with a message of what all of our heroes have gone through in an effort to protect our nation.
Each of these inspiring stories showcases the determination, courage and valor of our loyal soldiers. Stories reveal difficult situations when these reliable soldiers emerged victorious from bleak situations.
The series of 5 Patriotic Stories will be promoted through TV, radio and social media channels and, simultaneously, an engaging competition will also be held for the target audience throughout the campaign. The campaign will run through mid-October, spreading patriotic passion with some of the best stories in Indian battle history.
